Blog Post #2 - Cave Art 101

Last week, we start talking about chapter 14 and then we did some artwork, and we painted  those artworks to practice what we learn from chapters 1-3. By mixing the chalk and charcoal with Crisco, we got the idea how the humans at the paleolithic made their paintings on the caves. The people on the paleolithic, used animals oil mixed with the flowers powder as their medium. Before we started painting, we thought about what was going to the purpose of our painting; then, we thought about what we was going to paint. After that, we started applying the knowledge from chapter 2, but we didn't used all of the visual tools on it. In our painting, we evoked the feeling of happiness in projects, showing how people can be on a harmonized place without thinking about gun fire, fights, and others violence. By the colors, contrast, and scale you emphasize on the playground to get the purpose of our artwork.

Blog Post #1 - What Is Creativity?

I'm not an artist but sometimes I am creative. These are the traits that I have:
*Wonder and be curious - I can describe my self as a W person. I'm always wondering why they made it, how they made it and what it's his purpose; I like to know the little details that make the different; not only outside to appreciate but inside so i can understand better have a better knowledge about what I'm looking at;
*Be open to new experience - I like to experience new things so i can increase my knowledge, have answer for my questions and for fun too. It's always good to be open to new experience, you have open eyes to others things instead of being focus only on certain things;
*Be able to take risk - There's no fun in life if you don't take risks. In life, usually we have to make big decisions were we need to choose between two or more options, that's why we have to be able to take risks;
*Be persistent - I need to be persistent in this life so I can achieve my goals. I like to fight for what i believe in and i don't give up till i get it. Like they say "Hard work always compensate" and i believe on that.

Practise Post #3 - Artist Research

Romare Bearden:
Born on September 2, 1911 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Romare Bearden Was a multi-talented artist and one of America's foremost collagist. Bearden's family moved to Nwe York City in 1914 in an attempt to distance themselves from Jim Crow's "separate but equal" laws.
Bearden grew as an artist not by learning how to create new techniques and mediums, but by his life experiences, and the different decades he created art and the different events that took place completely reshaped his vision of art. He studied under German artist George Grosz at the Art Students League in 1936 and 1937. At this time his paintings were often of scenes in the American South, and his style was strongly influenced by the Mexican muralists, especially Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco.
This is the painting that I liked more from his art works : Pittsburgh Memory-1964
